3 Best Types of Vibrators (& Why I Recommend Them)

Vibrators are versatile tools designed to enhance sexual pleasure through various forms of stimulation.

Whether used solo or with a partner, vibrators offer a customizable and enjoyable experience that can add excitement and intimacy to your sex life.

Benefits of Vibrators

With so much focus on penetrative sex, people are neglecting all the pleasure that comes from stimulating the clitoris. Using a vibrator is like giving a very fast and focused massage on the lady bits that get her off the most.

These powerful sensations also help her connect both her body and mind. It forces her to give her attention to the area while also associating the mental and physical sensations with presence and pleasure.

For some women, using a vibrator also helps reduce the shame of using your hand to pleasure yourself.

3 Types of Vibrators

The best vibrator for you depends on what kind of sex you’re looking to use it for.

  • Clitoral Stimulation
  • Penetrative Pleasure
  • Both Clitoral & Penetrative

Clitoral Vibrators

If you want to focus on clitoral pleasure during penetrative sex, we highly recommend using a bullet and wand vibrators.

Discreet Bullet Vibrator

My partner loves using this vibrator while she’s riding me. She gets to orgasm from both penetrative sex and clitoral stimulation. Great toy! However, if you have a partner who loses everything all the time like mine, you’re gonna wanna be the one who puts it away for safekeeping. If your partner doesn’t lose her belongings all the time, she’ll definitely enjoy using it for solo play.

Material (Rate: 5/5): It’s a smooth silicone material, non-toxic, and is all pleasure, no plain.

Body Safety (Rate: 4/5): I wonder if women would be scared if their partner would mindlessly shove this inside. That’s…my own real reason to rate this less than five stars, but I guess that’s just the risk everyone takes.

Design/Function (Rate: 4/5): I like that it’s smooth with a simple design. It’s 3.6in long and 0.7in wide. Has multiple vibration settings. It’s also pretty quiet. It works for what it’s for.

Power Source (Rate: 2/5): The power comes from using a AAA battery. I’m extremely used to chargeable batteries now. If I can charge a fitbit without losing it, I can charge a teeny vibrator without losing it too.

Ease of Cleaning (Rate: 4/5): Very easy to clean with disinfectant and wipes. This device isn’t waterproof, but to be fair—it’s very small, so cleaning is still zero-hassle.

Standard Wand Vibrator

This is another vibrator that I have to stand by because I’ve used this type of vibrator with multiple partners and it’s the reason why they came back for more when I first started getting into the community.

Material (Rate: 5/5): Like the bullet vibrator, this wand is smooth silicone and non-toxic. The head is free to bend as the wand is pressed up against someone. The handle part is solid and smooth up to the reflective end where you have a reflective plastic that covers the battery input.

Body Safety (Rate: 5/5): Completely safe and hasn’t caused any issues. I’ve even used this with a partner who has vaginismus and it didn’t cause her any pain.

Design/Function (Rate: 4/5): The design I’ve linked to is the most preferred, since it’s not too big and is effective all the same. My primitive ape mind could never find the initial default vibration setting after changing it. And because of my own shortcoming, I’m knowing it down a point. I even told my current partner not to change the setting or else she won’t find it again. She changed the setting… and then she found it again.

Power Source (Rate: 4/5): I’ve gone through 3 of these and I’m on my 4th because I kept losing the charging cable. Now I have a dedicated outlet for all my toys to charge and haven’t run into that issue since. My only real peeve is that the battery would only ever last about two or three, maybe four sessions before needing to recharge.

Ease of Cleaning (Rate: 4/5): I’ve cleaned these toys many times and its never been a hassle. Make sure you clean it between partners and uses every time. You’ll notice white markings on it after every time you use it with a partner. It’s impossible to miss really… (that’s how well it works every time).

Penetrative Vibrators

For something more penetrative, whether it’s in the anus or the vagina, we recommend the egg vibrators.

My partner and I are fond of the Discreet Remote Control Vibrator 3 and you can check out my full review here.

Penetrative + Clitoral Vibrators

The best double-trouble vibrator my partner and I have come across is the Rose 2-in-1 Dildo G Spot Vibrator. This will inevitably become your partner’s solo play toy.

Material (Rate: 3/5): This one feels rubbery but very soft and durable. I like how it feels in my hands.

Body Safety (Rate: 4/5): Safe, except maybe the length of the cord can cause frustration for people with certain body types.

Design/Function (Rate: 4/5): The vibration controls are found on the flower so that the phallus part can go inside whatever hole you want. The phallus part can vibrate while the flower end has a tongue stimulate the clitoris. Great for your girl, like really great. My partner finished in under two minutes on the lowest setting. Meanwhile you get to give your girl some face work.

Power Source (Rate: 4/5): The battery is long-lasting and it charges very fast via a magnetic charger. I docked it a single point because the charger isn’t something universal like a USB-C.

Ease of Cleaning (Rate: 4/5): Since this toy is waterproof, I find it very easy to clean. There’s a bit of maneuvering since it’s somewhat of an odd shape compared to a straightforward wand or bullet vibrator.

Vibrator Cleaning & Care

All silicone material is easy to clean. It only really takes soap, water, and some thorough rinsing. Make sure you clean after each use, whether it was used with a partner or solo.
