A submissive journal is where a sub can write out their innermost thoughts.
Although a Dominant can observe a sub’s journal, it is typically regarded as a submissive’s safe space.
Since submissives don’t have as much leeway for expression as Dominant, this safe space is necessary for a sub’s healthy emotional expression.
This means that a Dominant will not punish their sub for expressing their vulnerabilities in the journal. Otherwise, it would no longer be a safe space.
When there is no fear of punishment, the Dominant can get a deeper level of understanding of their submissive’s innermost thoughts and desires.
