Praise Kink, or gratification kink, is about getting pleasure from positive reinforcement and affirmation.
This kink is about giving special attention to the things your partner is doing well or makes them attractive to you.
The person getting pleasure from this can either be the person giving the compliments or the person receiving the compliments.
Whether these words of affirmation need a sexual undertone depends on the person with the praise kink—but typically yes.
If you’re not good at embedding sexuality into innocent words, then instead you can say to your partner that you like that they have/do X and that you find X to be hot, sexy, etc.
Things to say to someone with a praise kink
Here’s a trick I use because I’m a bit touched with autism, but I know you can definitely use it too—
Write a list of twenty things you like about your partner. This list can be physical, personality, and behavior traits.
Although you can always hit your partner with general praise phrases and impromptu encouragement—
What makes this kink work best is really selling the person on themselves. There’s no better way to do that than by praising actual qualities about them and encourage what they do.
It’s also really hard not to be sold on something that has twenty or more things you really like about it.
So writing the list is not just about taking inventory on your partner’s awesome qualities—
It’s also lowkey selling you on your partner and seeing that you have every reason to be enthusiastic about giving them the praise they deserve.
