In this post, we briefly go over what does DDLG stand for.
What does DDLG stand for?
DDLG is an abbreviation for Daddy Dom and Little Girl.
If the sex identities are different, you may see MDLB (Mommy Dom/little boy) or CGL (Caregiver/little).
These abbreviations describe a relationship dynamic derived from BDSM. And it is a subset of the D/s relationship.
Littles are those who express many childlike characteristics. In a DDLG (or similar) dynamic, the little is free to express and engage in childlike behavior and thought. For example, he enjoys coloring books and Disney movies.
“Little Space” refers to the intense moments of childlike expression (and the freedom to emotionally express themselves without feeling they have to filter their behavior to be “adult appropriate”).
The player with a caregiving role (ie. Daddy Dom, etc) watches over his little, and, if necessary, educates it. The caregiver, for example, puts his child to bed in the evening and may read to him. He bathes, plays, and can also reward and punish his little depending on the intensity of the power imbalance in the relationship.
The DDLG relationship provides the little with a framework that allows them to express the needs of their inner child. Allowing the little to be cheeky and provoke, play, or simply snuggle up to the caregiver in a perceptive manner.
However, keep in mind that many people who practice DDLG expressly state that it is not a game. It’s not about appearing childish, but about being yourself. A small child, for example, loves his pacifier not because small children have pacifiers, but because it truly calms them down.
