How to Perform Mummification Bondage in BDSM

Mummification is a form of bondage where someone is fully or partially wrapped like a mummy.

This leaves the wrapped person immobilized for the duration of the scene.

Mummification is a form of advanced bondage involves wrapping someone in any of the following materials:

  • Saran wrap
  • Duct tape
  • Bondage tape
  • Sleep sacks
  • etc

Why Do People Like Mummification?

If you like to wrap yourself in a blanket to cozy up in bed, then you have a sense why it’s fun being wrapped like a burrito.

People who practice mummification bondage like the sensory and restraint that comes from being completely immobilized.

For some, there’s an odd comfort to being tightly restrained.

Depending on the materials and how their mummification is done, they can appreciate the coddled, protective feeling they get from being wrapped.

For others, there’s a thrill that can be arousing by the vulnerability they experience from being restrained.

It can also be a meditative experience, similar to a sensory deprivation tank, where the sense being deprived is the ability to touch.

Tips for Mummification Bondage

Since mummification can be a long process, make sure you are well hydrated and pee before play. It would be inconvenient if you needed to pee during the process.

Make sure you have safety shears in case you need to be freed in case of emergency.

Place soft materials around sensitive areas so the wrapped person isn’t experiencing unnecessary discomfort.

Have the wrapped person dress or undress comfortably for the process.

Make sure the person being wrapped can always breathe.

How To Wrap Your Partner for Mummification

Start wrapping your sub from the top-down, not the bottom-up. This way they can stand for most, if not all, of the process.

You don’t need to wrap at the neck, it’s better to start wrapping around and across your partner’s chest, shoulders, and back, and work your way down.

As you wrap around and down your partner, make sure there’s an inch or so overlap of the wrap.

By the time you wrap your partner’s lower back, it’d be a good time to put something soft to serve as padding between your partner’s legs.

The padding makes it more comfortable, prevents cramps, and keeps knees from getting uncomfy against each other.

You don’t have to wrap the bottom half of the shins. It’s somewhat unnecessary unless you’re being very restrictive, and it allows your sub to keep standing.

After you have that initial layer wrapped, you can wrap more layers with less need for overlap to your heart’s content.

When you’re satisfied, lay your partner down safely.

Keep them wrapped for however long the scene warrants.

Carefully use the safety shears to free your partner when finished or as needed.
