How to Tie Wrists (with Double Column Tie)

In this post, we briefly go over how to tie wrists with a double column tie.

Are you new to BDSM, but bondage classes appear slightly too complicated? Here’s a simple bondage technique that will allow you to tie a rope around your partner’s wrists. And all in complete safety, with a pleasing aesthetic outcome.

To accomplish this, you simply need to memorize a few simple gestures.

By publishing this tutorial, we do not claim to be experts in bondage or BDSM in general. It’s a bondage mini-course for and by beginners that will teach you how to make simple rope handcuffs without straining your brain too much.

Consider taking shibari or kinbaku classes in workshops or private lessons instead if you want to learn advanced techniques.

Choice of rope to tie the wrists

Cotton bondage rope is an option. They are common in sex shops, particularly in many standard bondage kits.

On the other hand, Purists will prefer hemp or linen ropes specially treated for bondage. These can be purchased in BDSM-oriented stores, Etsy, or by hand. We’ll probably return to this topic in a future article.

Of course, there are no strings from the local Castorama, or it’s guaranteed burns.

The length of the rope is critical. Indeed, if it is too long, it will tangle even more and become difficult to manage. Plan two to three meters, no more, depending on the width of your partner’s wrists.

Before you begin,

Remember that any BDSM practice, no matter how gentle, necessitates confidence and caution to avoid the risk of an accident.

Ensure that your partner is comfortable throughout the experience:

  • On the one hand, there is the psychological aspect. Some people may experience panic as a result of restricted movement.
  • However, check that they have no cramps and that his or her fingers do not redden abnormally.

You must quickly undo the links if there is a problem. Use a pair of blunt-ended scissors to cut the strings as quickly as possible without injuring your partner.

Tutorial to bind your partner’s wrists

  • To make a loop, fold the rope in half.
  • Pass both ends of the rope through the loop around your partner’s wrists. Pull gently but firmly to avoid cutting off blood circulation.
  • You should hold both ends of the rope in your hands. Have them circle your partner’s wrists in the opposite direction of the loop. Always without oversqueezing.
  • Pass both ends of the rope through the loop once the two turns are complete.
  • Disconnect the rope’s two ends. Pass one between the wrists from above and the other between the wrists from below.
  • Make two turns in opposite directions around the cords that surround the wrists with each of the two strands of the cord.
  • Join the two strands with a knot.
  • Re-tie the knot and tighten it by pulling on both ends of the rope.

The result

The result is bonds that do not tighten or loosen on their own. The blood circulation is not cut off because the two wrists are attached.

It’s not the most fashionable bondage technique, but it does have the advantage of being simple to execute. It can also be used to tie the ankles together.
