Pony Play is a type of animal role play that involves control, restriction, dominance, gear, etc.

History to Pony Play
The history of pony play is arguable in that there seems to be stretches in interpretation as to whether Aristotle and other historical figures were pony players.
So instead let’s approach this with a more generalized human experience:
I think it’s a fairly common experience to “play horsey” with an older sibling or parent when you are a child.
This can be either you sitting on their back while they are traversing you on all fours, or with you sitting on their shoulders or being held up on their back.
You either found your “horse” to be very fun, something to be proud of, something you could low-key degrade with authority, whatever floats your boat.
This sort of play was very fun as a child, and we projected our own associations and expectations onto the person playing our horse.

Show Ponies – These pony players are about the presentation. This involves the gear, hairstyling, and other things aesthetic. But this can also include training; being led, walk, trot, etc. These players may perform at “pony shows”.
Riding Ponies – These are the pony players you can ride. This can be either physically or sexually.
Cart Ponies – These pony players are trained to pull carts and can even be trained alongside a team of cart ponies. A part of this fetish involves the pride taken in pulling an extravagant cart or the person in the carriage.
