A Himbo is a man, or male counterpart, that is lovable, cuddly, attractive, buff, and most of all—dumb.
A himbo is the male equivalent to a bimbo in bimbofication, despite being largely different.
Essentially, they are physically attractive but gullible men. This includes being incredibly affectionate, gullible, and naive. Examples of himbos include:

- Kronk (Emperor’s New Groove)
In the male gaze, a himbo is a manly man and epitome of masculinity. While in the female gaze, the himbo is dim-witted but has a sweet nature to him. In either gaze, the himbo has a large stature in some form or another.
Some could argue that himboism is an ableist fetishm over a lack of intelligence, however, it’s actually less about a lacking intellect and more about emphasizing the physical stature, despite being oblivious.
Others would defend the use of himbo because being called himbo is physically validating to the men being called by that label. It’s cool being known as intelligent or charismatic when that’s what your known for, but it’s incredibly nice when someone can refer to you as physically attractive when it’s not something you’re known for.

Why is himbo a good thing, while bimbo is looked down upon? Well, there’s nothing wrong with being a bimbo in terms of play. In society, it just so happens that it’s perfectly fine to insult men. Meanwhile, the bimbo is only put down by men who dehumanize women in the first place and it otherwise encouraged; “bad bitch” is the culturally accepted bimbo. There’s a nuance, but don’t worry about it—just do you!

Do himbos know how cute and attractive they are? Yes and no. Himbos have big blind spots, but each vary person-to-person.
How did himbos become a cultural phenomenom? It’s likely to oppose the toxic masculinity out there. To be real, all toxic masculinity and toxic femininity is just immaturity. The only reason people don’t develop reasonably is because they were dealt cards that deprived them of that privilege. So if you find a himbo, just love them—they actually want to be saved.
