BDSM Collars: Training Collar & Collaring Ceremony

In this post, we go over BDSM collars, training collars, and collaring ceremonies.

BDSM Collars: Training Collar & Collaring Ceremony

Collars are not a sign of the barbaric and unconventional slavery that was practiced in the 17th and 18th centuries. In the BDSM realm, a collar has a completely different meaning, the way the dom thinks about the sub. And that’s probably the exact opposite of earlier times.

It marks the bond, the commitment, the trust and is a symbol of an exceptionally strong relationship. And in the truest sense of the word this has just as intense a meaning as marriage elsewhere.

So if you as a Dom would like to show the sub that he is really important to you, more than just a small bondage in the shared bedroom, then this beginner’s guide on the subject of collars for slaves should point you the first step in the right direction. Even if there is a lot of information, you shouldn’t be afraid of it.

Safety first!

Even if it is a rather annoying topic for some, safety always comes first, as with everything. First and foremost, you shouldn’t undertake more than you are ready to handle, so take the time to study this section carefully.

First things first: the collar should fit comfortably and securely. To best ensure this, the Dom should put on the collar while Sub stands in front of the mirror and observes everything. Put the collar around your neck and gently pull it tighter, making sure that breathing and swallowing are not hindered. This can be assessed quite well by leaving two fingers wide between the neck and the collar. If you don’t manage to slide your fingers between them, the collar is too tight.

If you pull on the collar afterwards, this should not happen too hard and should be broken off immediately if discomfort occurs.

While it’s not necessarily a cause for concern, sometimes the collar will rub your neck easily. But this can be remedied quickly with a little cream or even lube.

Of course, there are definitely disobedient slaves who you want to instill some discipline with the collar, but the massive pulling on the collar or rings should still not be tried.

If the collar is put on correctly, it should therefore not hinder swallowing or breathing, even with active use, and a Safe word should always be agreed in which the collar is removed immediately, just in case.
