What is Vampirism in BDSM? (Vampire Roleplay)

Vampirism, or Vampire Roleplay, is where on person takes on the role of a vampire while others are victims or something relevant.

Vampirism can be considered a type of primal play mixed with a form of feederism or bloodplay, where one person gets to express themselves shamelessly as a monster that cannibalizes on other human beings.

According to A Billion Wicked Thoughts by Ogi Ogas and Sai Gaddam, many women find paranormal romance heroes to be very attractive. This includes vampires, werewolves, and other beast men.

This admiration towards overpowering men explains why vampirism is usually applied under a Dominant/submissive scene context.

Why People Like Vampire Roleplay in BDSM

Vampire roleplay easily lends itself to involve blood play, breathplay, fear play, leaving hiccies on someone’s neck, and so on.

People like the sense of control they get by having this strangely intimate access to someone’s body. You essentially have someone’s life fluids in your hands.

Not only is there this sense of power for the Dominant, but there’s also a sense of possession and jealousy over the submissive lover.

I’ve met a few people who consider themselves coven witches as part of their belief system, who just happen to enjoy blood play and engaging in vampirism.

We’d gone dancing at a goth club together and one of them grabbed my friend, cut his arm then licked and sucked his blood. I wasn’t expecting that, but yeah, it’s definitely a thing.

Power Exchange in Vampirism

Dominants tend to roleplay as the vampire, and will be called things like Master, My Liege, Count, etc.

Submissives tend to roleplay as either the damsel lover, the devoted familiar (vampire’s slave), or something along those lines.

Other vampire-related forms of play include:

  • Hypno Play where the vampire uses psychic hyponisis to put their human in a trance.
  • Degradation where the vampire mocks how weak and helpless the human is.
  • Mummification where the human wraps the vampire out of honor and respect.
  • Dollification where the vampire is commanding the human to act out their wishes.

Each of these forms of play will involve some level of internal enslavement within the human.

If the power exchange is being applied in a 24/7 dynamic, then you might consider rituals and sub maintenance that are more vampire-themed:

  • Have the submissive recite a “devotion incantation” to prove their devotion to their Count
  • The submissive must reveal her neck to her vampire to leave marks on every evening
  • Upon returning home, the Count must be greeted by their kneeling familiar

Risks of Vampirism Bloodplay

Turns out, you can get very, very sick drinking someone else’s blood. There are many diseases you can get from ingesting blood, from a mild tummy ache to HIV. This is no joke.

On top of this, the person who is losing blood may possibly have a health condition that can cause a lot of distress or even be lethal.

Between all of this, you can be leaving scars on the person when attempting to penetrate the skin.

Essentially, there are risks every step of the way. This is why vampire roleplay doesn’t necessarily need to include bloodplay. Instead you can focus on other vampire-themed forms of play.

For example, using knife play to create a blood-letting scene.
