In this post, we’ll briefly go over what is wax play in BDSM.
What is Wax Play in BDSM?
Like bondage and spanking, wax play or game with wax is one of the most seductive BDSM practices due to its visual appeal full of sexual connotations (after all, it’s also called the wax sperm used to make candles, as well as the melted one that hangs from these) and the thrill of playing with fire. But, since I don’t want you to burn yourself in the literal sense, you already know what the saying goes.
Types of wax:
There are often 3 types of wax for candles.
- Paraffin-based waxes (melting point between 57 and 60 ° C)
- Animal waxes (beeswax, 62 and 65 ° C)
- Vegetable waxes (45 and 55 ° C)
The burn on the skin appears from a temperature of around 62 to 63 ° C, less in some sensitive people.
Where it gets complicated is that the wax, once melted, continues to be heated by the flame. As a result, the molten wax flowing from a candle may be hotter than its melting point. You should also know that there are often additives in the wax which can increase the wax’s melting temperature by ten degrees.
Some waxes, such as beeswax (62 and 65 ° C), will cool more slowly on contact with the skin, further increasing the risk of burns.
The risk of real 1st and 2nd degree burns is therefore significant…
Waxes for BDSM
For safety, we use low temperature vegetable waxes based on:
- Soybeans (melting temperature between 45 ° C and 50 ° C)
- Rapeseed (melting temperature between 52 ° C and 55 ° C)
- Sunflower (melting temperature between 48 ° C and 50 ° C)
wax play
- First of all, your partner must be consenting!
- Once the submissive is naked, you will oil the victim’s body by sensually massaging her, this will increase her sensations and put a layer of protection on the skin.
- You can blindfold the submissive to increase her sensations, tie her up.
- The Dominant must control the distance the wax falls, the closer you are to the skin, the more it burns, the further away you are, the warmer and softer it is.
- The Dominant should distribute the wax over the body and should not insist on a spot because a buildup of wax will cool more slowly and cause burns.
- Safety words apply and will be respected by the Dominant
- To increase the sensations, cleaning can be done with, for example, an ice cube in order to go cold after hot …
Advice
- Some people may have allergies to soy, for example. It is therefore necessary to know the composition of the candle waxes used in order to avoid possible problems.
- Have a damp cloth nearby to put on the skin to cool the wax if necessary and avoid a burn quickly.
- No waxing after a shower or a bath, because the skin is bare, the sebum that protects it is no longer there and this increases the risk of burns.
- You can apply moisturizer before waxing to be able to detach the wax more easily when finished and then apply a layer to rehydrate the skin.
- In BDSM, we NEVER take substances that modify the perception of pain (drugs, alcohol, medication, etc.) because, during the application of the wax, the person under the influence will perceive the pain in a reduced manner, which gives a feeling false security to the Dominant who risks going too far and causing burns.
- Do not wear nylon, acrylic or other clothing that could melt and become embedded in the skin under the effect of the hot wax.
- Beware of flammable materials, you are playing with an open flame!
- Wax is difficult to remove from sheets, carpets … play your wax games on an easy-to-clean tarp or surface
Examples of Wax Play
Although wax plays are usually divided into four categories: drip, pour or drip, support, and paint, The Drip technique entails holding the candle in one hand, turning the wrist slightly, and pouring sperm on the sub missive’s skin drop by drop.
The lower the temperature that reaches the skin, the lower the temperature that reaches the skin, though there is a risk of splashing. Start with the candle about 70/60 cm away from the body and gradually lower it, paying attention to the sub missive’s reactions.
Pour the drops separately, not one on top of the other, because if the first layer hasn’t cooled down yet, it will maintain its temperature for longer when it receives the second.
